Never had a good time the few times I've been to Neighbors and I barely consider it a gay bar. I haven't been for years, but think it's one of the better places for dancing-it's more Top 40 than house/techno. In my experience CCs is probably closest to Union in clientele and The Cuff in decor. Mad Pub is more of a sports bar than CCs. I know there are some gay bars outside of Cap Hill and White Center, but I can’t think of them offhand.

I haven’t been yet but it is also supposed to have quirky/fun decor. Swallow is a nautical/sailor themed bar, owned by the same owners as Pony. Lumberyard has more of a neighborhood bar vibe and occasionally hosts underwear nights, generally a friendly though somewhat older crowd. There are also a couple of bars in White Center, which is SW of downtown Seattle in the suburbs, approximately 25 mins by car/uber without traffic. I haven’t been to either but I’ve heard CC’s described as a gay sports bar (they also host themed fetish nights) and the Eagle is supposed to be similar to Eagle bars in other locations (bear/daddy/leather bar). R Place is another Capitol Hill gay bar, but I haven’t been so I can’t speak to it.ĬC Attle’s (CC’s) and the Seattle Eagle (the Eagle) we’re pretty close together. Neighbors has historically been a gay bar, but tends to be overrun with straight girls looking to go dance and guys trying to get with them. Queer/Bar is another popular spot and sometimes hosts events. It’s a very large bar and also attracts a diverse clientele, often has events on Friday/Saturday. The Cuff Complex (Cuff) is a couple blocks away from those four. Diesel is the bear bar, Mad Pub is more of a ‘neighborhood’ bar, Union attracts all comers, and Pony is known for its quirky decor and diverse clientele. These bars are all in the Capitol Hill neighborhood:ĭiesel, Madison Pub (Mad Pub), Union, and Pony all sit in the same block.
